ABOUT SARAH GRONQUIST
Sarah is a Senior Project Manager at Thuilot Associates, where she works with large multidisciplinary teams to integrate strong landscape design concepts seamlessly within the overlapping contexts of architecture, site grading and utility systems, client budget and schedule needs, and the regulatory environment.
Originally hired to manage multifamily housing renovation projects, Sarah took charge of a suite of large, interrelated commercial development projects with challenging fast-track design-build teams on the design and construction sides. Her analytical and social skills were invaluable in quickly integrating into the team structure and working with ownership and professionals to keep the delivery of VE and design updates on schedule and within the formats required for city and contractor review.
As an instructor, Sarah has developed college-level course content for many Bay Area institutions and has lectured on technical issues related to grading, construction detailing, and stormwater management. She also teaches planting design studios and is currently developing a new course covering business issues for landscape designers and contractors.
Sarah devotes additional time to developing mentoring relationships with young designers, and is actively seeking new opportunities to engage in meaningful speaking, teaching, and professional outreach.
